🌿Wholesome Grafting Workshop (fruit tree Id + gathering Grafting wood included) 🌿

📍 Meetup Point: The Fungi Farm at Richmond Community Gardens (look for the wooden mushroom sculptures near the river end of Evelyn Cousins, where wooden mushroom sculptures are. Close to the swimming pool and children playground close to Avebury house).

Join us for a hands-on, zero-waste grafting workshop in the heart of the red zone! We’ll begin with a gentle walk through the area to identify and gather scion wood — the essential material used for grafting fruit trees, best collected mid-winter.

After our forage, you'll learn the basics of grafting: how to identify the right wood, gather the necessary materials, and get a live demo followed by a chance to practice. While grafting is usually done in late August to September, we’ll show you how to get started indoors or in a greenhouse ahead of the season.

We’ll be back in September for one more Grafting & Air Layering Workshop as part of the Adult Learning Festival — please note: scion wood is best gathered mid-winter, so this July workshop is your chance to fully prepare! This workshop is wholesome and as we will do a demo there won't be a necessity to come to the September grading workshop unless you would like to repeat it.
