Wednesday Social Walk # 79 – Pipeline / Te Moenga-o-Wheke / Bridle Path

Come join us for a midweek ramble in the Port Hills.

Up the pipeline and along the Crater Rim Walkway over to Te Moenga-o-Wheke/The Tors and then walk under the bluffs to the far end. There is a track here, despite grumbles on an earlier trip about going off track, but you may have to look quite hard to see it. If it’s dry we’ll walk back along the tops to the marker pole on the eastern peak. This gives us a stunning view over Te Tihi-o-Kahukura and Te Ihutai (Castle Rock and the Estuary) before we drop to the Summit Road and back down the Bridle Path. For those who don’t fancy the walk over the tops, or if it’s wet, there is an alternate route along the CRW.

About 6.0 km with 350 metres elevation gain, and about two hours.
