Join us for a three hour foraging course collecting edible wild mushrooms in an area of stunning private woodland, learning to safely identify edible and poisonous species and getting to understand how these amazing organisms protect, regulate and manage the forest eco system.
The aim of these workshops is to provide a solid foundation of knowledge. You'll learn what mushrooms are and how they grow, how we can forage them sustainably and safely and will be able to confidently identify and forage at least a few varieties of edible mushroom after your session.
During the walk, we will:
⦁ Introduce you to the basics of mushroom foraging and guide you through your first seasonal adventure.
⦁ Teach you how to identify key varities
⦁ Share culinary tips and traditional uses for foraged ingredients
⦁ Discuss the ethics and etiquette of foraging with respect for nature.
⦁ Explain important rules and legislation about foraging in the UK.
⦁ Enjoy samples of seasonal wild foods and a refreshing cup of foraged herbal tea.
