As we gather to celebrate Matariki me Puaka, Whakapakari Ora is proud to stand alongside Māori healers, artists, and knowledge holders to honour hauora, whakapapa, and the wisdom of our tūpuna 🌌.
At this special Haumanu Hauora Whānau Day, you will find:
🌿 Whakapakari Ora with Kandace Smiler – Sharing her mahi in Rongoā Māori, with a focus on wāhine ora (women’s wellness). Kandace will offer insights and kōrero around traditional plant-based healing practices for endometriosis, menopause, hormonal balance, and overall holistic wellbeing. Resources and natural products will also be available to explore.
🧵 Kahu Collective with Lisa – Representing Kahu Collective, Lisa will be showing at a Raranga exhibition, highlighting the sacred practice of Māori weaving. Visitors can watch and engage in the beauty of raranga, connect with stories woven through harakeke, and experience how this creative practice supports emotional wellbeing, mindfulness, and cultural identity.
🌙 Both practitioners are deeply connected to the maramataka (Māori lunar calendar) and will weave in knowledge around lunar rhythms and their relationship to hauora.
