ABOUT Profile:
Deejay, producer, radio host, and label boss. Profile's got it all covered. And somehow, while remaining at the cutting edge of contemporary jump-up drum 'n' bass and smashing dances across the world, he's got the pedigree and experience to connect modern ravers with the old skool foundations.
Growing up in East London, in a family immersed in soundsystem culture, his musical instincts were hard-wired from early. As was his appreciation for heavyweight basslines and beats that would give him a career.
As a deejay, he's smashed up raves and airwaves everywhere you can imagine. BBC Radio 1Xtra, Fabric, The End, Kiss, Rough Tempo, Kool London, Ministry of Sound, and a roll call of other iconic musical venues have all been given the Profile treatment. And that's before we get into his international touring schedule, which has seen him light up parties in the USA, Canada, Japan, Germany... basically, wherever good DnB is appreciated.
Production-wise, he's built up a fearsome discography with releases on Playaz, Biological Beats, Smoking Riddims, Liondub, and many more. Including, of course, his own Octave imprint which he co-owns with Brockie, and which has been instrumental in bringing through some of dancefloor DnB's hottest artists. The likes of Nu Elementz, Sub Killaz, K Motionz, and Hizzleguy have all released under the Octave banner over the years.
Now, as part of the sub-genre-defying 360 DnB crew with Fatman D and Nicky Blackmarket, Profile is helping redefine the deejays-plus-emcee crew concept. Already a crowd favourite, a run of huge bookings for the team is set to take Profile's popularity to a whole new level. That, coupled with forthcoming releases on elite labels like Technique Recordings, means that Profile's profile is set to grow exponentially.
