Due to popular demand, ‘Forge in the Forest’ is back with a one-off beginners’ black-smithing session.
This is a relaxed, informal workshop for up to 5 people to have a go at black-smithing in our outdoor forge. No experience is necessary and all tools, materials and safety equipment are provided. The workshop is led by Steve Burns, who has been leading smithing sessions with our Men’s group over the past 3 years.
The forging workshop will run from 1 to 4pm.
This year, we are also offering an option to buy a block of 3 sessions at a slight discount. This year the forging sessions will be on Saturday afternoons: 4th October, 8th November and 6th December and on Wednesday evenings: 15th October, 19th November and 17th December. If you would like to book a block of 3 please message us to let us know which 3 you will be attending. Thank you 🙂
Depending on your level of experience we will be creating simple beginner black-smithing projects such as a coat hook or poker. If you already have some experience Steve will discuss with you would you would like to make.
The workshop is aimed at adults but we can have older teenagers (from the age of 14 up).
We will stop for a break about half way through each session to have a brew and a slice of cake.
Please book tickets via our website (see link above).
