Mushroom foraging walk with David Winnard

Come and join foraging expert David Winnard from Discover the Wild on a fungal foray. We will be going on a woodland walk to find and identify edible mushrooms before returning to our site to cook some mushrooms over the fire and create a delicious snack with freshly baked bread and butter. Please note – there have been some years when we’ve not been able to find a sufficient quantity of edible mushrooms for the group so we have used shop bought mushrooms instead (or as well). This is hard to predict due to our variable weather but regardless of the conditions there is always plenty to see and talk about.

David’s workshops are very popular so early booking is essential. This is aimed at adults and older children (ages 12 and up). £15 per person. This includes all refreshments (food and hot drinks).

I’d recommend bringing a camera or notebook if you wish to make notes on the day – David is a mine of information! And please come appropriately dressed for the outdoors, although we do have a shelter to retreat to in case of wet weather 🙂
