Join us for a fun-filled day at Choctaw UMC as we dig into the wonders of butterfly gardening!

We’re creating our very own butterfly garden and you’re invited to help plant it! Explore nature through a scavenger hunt inspired by the Introduction to Oklahoma Gardening. Learn about:

🌞 Light needs – Full sun, partial shade, and shade
🦋 Plants that attract butterflies, moths, and hummingbirds
🍓 Edible fruits, flowers, and plant parts
🌸 Fragrant blooms and colorful foliage
🌾 Native Oklahoma plants
🐦 Seeds and fruits for birds and wildlife
🌼 Great cut flowers and long bloom periods
🐝 Plants that support honeybees

🧢 What to Bring:

A hat

Sunblock

Old shoes or play clothes

A shovel and A Chair

Your curiosity and energy!

🎨 Be ready to dig, get messy, and make something beautiful!

👨‍👩‍👧 Parents can volunteer by simply showing up and participating. Everyone’s welcome—come be part of the fun!

🍽️ Picnic Alert: Bring your lunch and enjoy a picnic with us—soak up the sunshine or relax in the shade as we refuel and connect.

🌱 Plant entries will include “Did You Know?” facts—uncover cool stories, unique uses, and fascinating tidbits about each plant.
