This competition is designed for the next generation of STEM communicators. In just 3 minutes, you'll present your thoughts on a topic at the intersection of technology and society. This contest combines the spontaneity of impromptu speaking with the intellectual depth of extemporaneous debate, challenging you to formulate a clear, logical, and impactful argument within only 𝘁𝘄𝗼 𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀 preparation time. 📍𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗶𝘁 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀❓
𝗧𝗼𝗽𝗶𝗰 𝗥𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲: The impromptu speech topic will be sent to participants via email at 3:00 PM, two hours before the event.
𝗣𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: You will have a two-hour window to prepare your speech independently.
𝗔𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗱 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹𝘀: You may use a single A4 note sheet with bullet points only. No full scripts, slides, or props are permitted.
𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗲𝗰𝗵 𝗗𝘂𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: The entire speech should in be English; and it must be maximum 3 𝗺𝗶𝗻𝘂𝘁𝗲𝘀 long. Time signals will be given to help you stay on track, and penalties may apply for going significantly over or under the time limit.
𝗢𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆: Your speech must reflect your own opinion and critical thinking on the topic.
𝗝𝘂𝗱𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝘇𝗲𝘀: Speeches will be evaluated based on specific criteria, including content, structure, and delivery. Winners will be awarded certificates and prize money.💥
