About the event

VJ Day 80
On Friday 15 August, we will mark the 80th anniversary of Victory in Japan (VJ Day).

Join us as the Union Flag will be raised at 10am outside the Town Hall, following an address by the Mayor. During the ceremony, there will be an act of remembrance led by the Royal British Legion.

We will also observe the national two-minute silence at the Town Hall Steps at midday.
