Donkey Day in Chimayó!

🐴 𝐃𝐢𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰... 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐦𝐚𝐦𝐦𝐨𝐭𝐡 𝐝𝐨𝐧𝐤𝐞𝐲𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰𝐧 𝐚𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 “𝐂𝐡𝐨𝐬𝐞𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐥 𝐨𝐟 𝐂𝐡𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐭”?

These gentle, long-eared giants have carried deep symbolic meaning for centuries, appearing in religious processions throughout New Mexico. And right here in Chimayó, Pat Trujillo‑Oviedo has spent over 40 years breeding and caring for these remarkable animals at the Centinela Mammoth Donkey Reserve.

Now, in partnership with the Chimayó Cultural Preservation Association, Pat is opening the gates for a special community celebration: Donkey Day!
