Welcome to the Opening Event of the 2025 Martha's Vineyard Book Festival, held on the grounds of the Chilmark Community Center! Join us on August 1, 2025 at 6:00 PM for a discussion featuring The Atlantic’s editor-in-chief, Jeffrey Goldberg, and staff writer, Ashley Parker. When truth is a precious commodity, The Atlantic has emerged at the cutting edge of political reporting. Join us for a deep dive into how journalism is navigating the current U.S. presidency and confronting press access, misinformation, political polarization, and the role of the media in a fragile democracy. Hear about Signalgate, journalistic ethics, interviewing the President, reporting in turbulent times and the future of news.
Jeffrey Goldberg – Editor-in-Chief of The Atlantic and moderator of Washington Week With The Atlantic. During his editorship, The Atlantic has set new audience and subscription records, and won its first-ever Pulitzer Prizes.
Ashley Parker – Staff Writer at The Atlantic and former Washington Post senior national political correspondent, is a three-time Pulitzer Prize winner who covered Donald Trump’s first term, and covered the Biden administration as White House bureau chief.
