Join me for monthly candlelit Restorative Yoga - a restful and relaxing class to reduce inflammation and chronic pain (in the physical body) and to help manage anxiety and stress (in the mental, emotional and spirit/soul).
Restorative yoga is a gentle mat based (often reclined) yoga practice that invites stillness, deep relaxation, and renewal. Through supported poses and the use of props (like bolsters, blankets, pillows and blocks), this practice helps calm your nervous system, reduce stress, and encourages a sense of inner peace. It is the perfect way to prioritize loving self-care as the practice helps relieve tension and other issues in the body, mind, heart and soul.
The simplicity of this practice is the settling into poses for extended periods of time, which assists with pain and stress management and is an effortless way to reduce heart rate and blood pressure.
Restorative yoga is an opportunity to escape the chatter of the world we live in, where stillness and silence allow is to activate the Parasympathetic Nervous System, easing the body into “Rest and Digest” mode from “Fight or Flight” mode. This activation also engages the Vagus Nerve to allow us to find true blissful rest.
