What is Soroptimist International of the Americas (SIA)?
SIA is a global volunteer organization. Volunteer members of local clubs in 19 different countries and territories work to improve the lives of women and girls through programs that lead to social and economic empowerment. SIA programs include education grants, volunteer work, and campaigns against obstacles facing women and girls, like sex trafficking and domestic violence.
What is Dream It, Be It?
Dream It, Be It is designed specifically for girls in secondary school, the program provides you with career support and guidance within your community. In our all-school, evening event, as put on by Chilliwack Soroptimist, you will learn about career opportunities, setting and achieving goals, overcoming obstacles to success and moving forward after setbacks or failure. The activities will be different - you might speak with a successful professional woman about her experience or play realistic life-choice games. No matter what shape your experience takes, at the end of it you will feel more prepared to pursue your career goals and more confident about your future success.
