Join us for a special historical presentation honoring Lt. George Whiteman of Sedalia, remembered as the first American pilot killed in WWII on December 7, 1941.

Through the heartfelt words of his aunt, Mildred Whiteman Rogers, experience the story of George’s childhood, education, and dream of flight that led him from Missouri to the skies over Hawaii. Set in 1955, this performance captures a family’s pride and sorrow as the Sedalia Army Air Corps Base at Knob Noster was renamed in his honor.

Hear how this moving program grew from a local “Cemetery Walk” and continues to keep local history alive today—with the Whiteman family’s gratitude and blessing.
