Entry Fee: Non-refundable $50 (includes mandatory events & contestant door entry)
DOES NOT INCLUDE A PARENT DOOR ENTRY. Please mail registration, entry fee, and proof of age (copy of birth certificate or driver’s license) to P.O. Box 1370, Chilhowie, VA 24319. Proof of age is mandatory for all age divisions. Registrations will be accepted through practice at 10 AM on September 13, 2025. Make checks payable to Chilhowie Community Apple Festival. The pageant will be open to the public for $5 entry fee.
Door Entry Fee: $5. All must pay admission except contestants. Ages 5-under are free.
Rules:
Pageants are open to contestants aged 0-19, unmarried, never married, and childless. Contestants must live in Smyth, Wythe, Russell, Grayson, Tazewell, Bland, or Washington Counties in Virginia or the City of Bristol, Virginia. Only biological females (as stated on the birth certificates) are eligible to participate in the pageant.
Hair pieces, flippers, or any other false accessories will not be permitted.
Queens of each age division and the Miss Apple Festival Court finalists will be required to ride in the Apple Festival Parade beginning at 10 AM on Saturday, September 27, 2025. Queens are asked to wear their pageant dresses, crowns, and sashes (no tennis shoes). One parent is permitted to ride with the Baby through Little Miss Queens. The crowning of Miss Apple Festival will begin at 12 PM at the Will Walker Farmers Market and Community Pavilion. If any queen cannot fulfill her duty, the crown and title will be given to the 1st runner-up. Unsportsmanlike conduct will not be tolerated by contestants, parents, or the public audience. Contestants displaying such behavior will be disqualified without a refund, removed from the venue, and may be prevented from registering next year. All decisions are final.
Score sheets will be available at the end of each division pageant crowning, upon request, by visiting the judges' table. The Master Score Sheet is available (at the same time) for viewing, but cannot be taken, photographed, or recorded under any circumstances.
Practice: An informational meeting and practice for all ages will be held on Saturday, September 13. Baby Miss - Tiny Miss contestants will meet from 10 - 10:30 AM, Little Miss - Young Miss contestants will meet from 10:30 - 11 AM, and Pre-Teen Miss - Miss contestants will meet from 11 AM - 12 PM. Practice is not mandatory, but it provides an opportunity for the Director to address any questions, learn more about the pageant, and submit registration paperwork and forms.
Portraits: A private photographer will be available for pageant portraits at any time during the pageants for an additional sitting fee. Portraits will be delivered to the school systems for school-age participants & mailed for all others. Group portraits of each age division queen and her court will be taken immediately following the crowning ceremony.
