Parking. Unfortunately we have not be able to negotiate free parking on the Witterings Estate. So you have various options. 1. To park on the Witterings Estate car park. You will need to book this in advance via their website
https://www.westwitteringestate.co.uk/. Cost is around £20 per day and you will be able to park there for the whole day. 2. To park in Witterings Village. There are various parking apps that you can reserve parking on people's driveways. 3. To park at Itchenor and then walk down to the East Head.
As this is fragile landscape with shifting sand dunes, we have limited the numbers. There will be a briefing at the beginning of the beach clean.
As well as the Final Straw risk assessment below, the National Trust advise
-not to go near the water as the tides near the entrance to Chichester harbour are very strong.
-Not to walk on the salt marsh
-Be careful of any ground nesting birds in the sand dunes.
-Children will need to be supervised by adults at all times
-Well behaved dogs are welcome but they need to be on a lead due to the wildlife and be mindful of other people in the area who may have dogs.
The Final Straw Foundation will provide gloves, litter pickers, bags and buckets, but if you have any of your own that you would like to use please bring them.
