ABOUT THE BOOK:
A revelatory examination of the choices we make as parents and children, (Simon Element; on sale June 3, 2025) by Deland McCullough and Sarah Spain is a heartrending story on the profound impact of family, identity, and the enduring bonds formed through both blood and mentorship.
When football coach Deland McCullough uncovered his adoption records, he discovered his biological father had unknowingly been a mentor in his life for decades. From a challenging upbringing in Youngstown, Ohio, to a career in the NCAA and NFL, Deland’s journey is a testament to perseverance and the transformative power of family. Based on Sarah Spain’s viral ESPN article, this unforgettable story delves into generational trauma, mentorship, and the bonds that shape us.
