Quiet Vigil for Loss and Remembrance
No matter why, how, or when grief touched your life, come to this vigil to share what you have learned during your time of mourning and sorrow.
At 8:00 a.m., we will gather at Promontory Point Park, near the fountain east of the underpass, and then, in small groups, we will walk into the large meadow to talk quietly about our experiences in living with or overcoming grief. (You may want to bring a blanket or chair.)
What has helped you in your journey?
For some of us the answer might be music, art, dancing, yoga, meditation, reading, friendship, or prayer. For still others, it might be therapy (mental, medical, or physical), writing, volunteering, crying, teaching, singing, or making art .
There is no wrong answer, and sometimes there is no answer at all. Every person, and every culture, processes grief d:ifferently, so we have a lot to learn from each other.
During this quiet vigil, let us consider our losses, make new connections, and begin creating a community that is steeped in empathy and caring.
