Lula Asplund is an experimental composer and sound artist based in Chicago. Visceral textures, vocal manipulation, modulation, and spectral play, ask explore haunts us. Asplund holds a BFA in music from Mills College and has performed at venues such as Center for New Music and Audio Technologies, The Lab SF, CalArts, Elastic Arts, Bohemian National Cemetery, and Experimental Sound Studio.

OPTION is an ongoing music salon curated by Chicago musicians Andrew Clinkman, Lily Finnegan, and Dorothy Carlos and presented by Experimental Sound Studio. Its programming explores contemporary perspectives on improvisation and composition in a 'salon' format, enabling local, national, and international artists to publicly discuss their practice and ideas as well as perform.
