A new printing of the long sold out children's book "Hi Weirdo" is out!
To celebrate, we're doing the first book signing at Chicago's beloved Horror House!
What is it about?
A book full of enjoyable weird, wild and wacky characters going about their business, with an unobtrusive life lesson thrown in.
Backstory!
I’ve been wanting to do a children's book for decades, but no topic ever came to mind.
Luckily, my much smarter (then)7 year old son Aiden had a great idea, and we went to town!
Yes, he only wrote two sentences, but they were very good sentences!
Aiden believes in quality over quantity.
I, on the other hand, enjoy quantity, so I jam-packed the book with as many oddball folks as I could wedge within the pages.
They were inspired by art and movies I loved as a youngster, fringe pop culture, and just ideas I pulled out of the back of my head.
You toss those two together, and you get “Hi Weirdo!”!
If Aiden can come up with a couple more sentences sometime, look for a sequel!

Aiden O’Connell is a beloved, cherished and respected fixture at the O’Connell household and Miss Van’s 2nd grade class at Peterson School. His spare time is spent playing with his older brother and sister, on his ipad and buying fluffy stuffed animals at flea markets. He and his father can often be seen weekends vending at horror conventions. Dad sells his books and screenprints, and Aiden spends the time turning the underside of the table into a fort and entering the kid’s costume contests. Hobbies include hugging cats and being cool!
