What is Global Azure?
Global Azure is an event where Azure communities and enthusiasts all around the world organize local events to talk about all things Azure. These events focus on new and upcoming features and discuss topics like development, security, AI, and more on the Azure platform.
Info: Over the past 15 years, Microsoft Azure has transformed from an ambitious platform-as-a-service into one of the most advanced and expansive cloud ecosystems on the planet. In this session, we’ll reflect on the critical engineering milestones that shaped Azure’s growth—including overcoming scale and reliability challenges, innovating at the platform level, and expanding from core compute and storage to a globally distributed, AI-infused infrastructure.
We’ll also turn our focus to what’s next: the technologies redefining Azure’s future. From confidential computing and quantum innovation to generative AI and custom silicon optimized for AI workloads, we’ll explore the architectural shifts these advances demand—and the opportunities they unlock. This session will equip software architects, developers, and infrastructure engineers with a strategic lens and practical guidance to prepare for Azure’s next phase of innovation.
Info: The Azure Resiliency Path encompasses strategies and methodologies designed to ensure the resilience and reliability of Azure services. To enhance Azure's resilience, it is crucial to implement Microsoft's Azure Well-Architected Framework (WAF) and its foundational pillars. This involves establishing a robust infrastructure, continuous monitoring, and proactive incident management. By adopting the WAF, you can effectively address challenges related to infrastructure resiliency, continuous monitoring, incident management, cost management, performance optimization, and security.
Info: Azure Monitoring is a comprehensive cloud-based service that allows users to collect, analyze, and act on telemetry data from various Azure resources, services and applications. It provides visibility into the health, performance, and availability of resources, enabling proactive monitoring and troubleshooting for enhanced operational efficiency.
In this session, you will learn the concepts important to monitoring applications and how to configure Azure Monitor and Application Insights to collect relevant data, alert you when potential problems occur, and report on that data in near real time.
