Writer, filmmaker, and "hustler of culture" Kevin Smokler is bringing his new book, BREAK THE FRAME: CONVERSATIONS WITH WOMEN FILMMAKERS, to Chicago! He'll be joined by former Trib critic Maureen Ryan, author of BURN IT DOWN: POWER, COMPLICITY, AND A CALL FOR CHANGE IN HOLLYWOOD.
This sure-to-be-brilliant conversation will take place outdoors in the Jarvis Square Alfresco Area on Jarvis between Greenview and the red line tracks. Books will be available at Jarvis Square Books, 1522 W. Jarvis, or can be preordered via Bookshop. Kevin and Maureen will do a signing after the event.
Please note, the monthy Jarvis Square Artisan Market will run in the same space from 10-2. We encourage you to check it out, maybe have lunch in the Square, but event seating won't be available until 2:45ish.
Tickets are free and registration is not required, but it really helps us to have a rough headcount. See you there!
