12th Sunday after Pentecost

At Ascension Lutheran, this Sunday invites a practical holy posture: as individuals and as a congregation, we’re encouraged to lower ourselves in humility and lift others through hospitality. Like Jeremiah, we’re reminded not to drift from the Source of living water. Hebrews calls us to be a community marked by genuine love, welcoming strangers, caring for the overlooked, and offering praise through deeds of generosity. Jesus models this when he dines with the marginalized—an image that challenges us to center our efforts on inclusion rather than self-promotion. As a church in Cheyenne, may we embody this: stepping aside from pride, embracing the humble, and, in doing so, reflecting God’s heart through compassionate presence and worship that serves. Let’s be a house where the cracked cisterns of isolation are replaced by wells of welcome.
