The Firehouse presents: Ahead by a Century - A Tribute to Tragically hip with special guest Danny Roy.
Ahead By A Century is a high energy, dynamic, and entertaining Tragically Hip Tribute Band. A group of seasoned musicians with decades of experience in a variety of genres from classic rock to blues to metal to country to progressive to jazz and lots in between. Based in Edmonton, Alberta, they are coming together to authentically pay homage to the iconic Canadian band – The Tragically Hip at the Langdon Firehouse on July 4, 2025.
Band Overview: Ahead By A Century
Peter Howard (Vocals): A seasoned performer since age 14, Pete toured western Canada in the 80s and settled in Edmonton in 1990. After a break from performing, he returned to music with The Eclectic Banana Project and now enjoys playing live again with Ahead By A Century.
Glenn Thorpe (Guitar): With over 40 years of guitar experience and a music degree from Grant MacEwan, Glenn has taught and performed across various genres. He currently plays in several bands, including Brigade (a Heart tribute) and RadioCrush (an 80s rock cover band).
Jay Haugen (Guitar): Active in the Edmonton music scene, Jay has a diverse background, spanning punk and new wave to classic rock. Known for his articulate playing and slide guitar skills, he has performed with bands like the Gary Cable Project.
Kevin Flaming (Bass): Kevin has over 40 years of band experience, starting with a heavy touring schedule in the 80s. After a break for family, he returned to the scene, playing various rock and country cover bands, including RadioCrush.
Dennis Boisvery (Drums): A country/rock drummer from Morinville, Alberta. Co-founder and drummer for the band Cadillac Junkies. Dennis plays with precision, aggression and full-on passion as he strives to provide a solid song-serving groove with any act he plays with...including Brigade!
