The Story of Elizabeth Van Lew

When Virginia secedes from the Union and joins the Confederacy, Elizabeth Van Lew of Richmond is horrified. She risks everything to support the Union; her social standing, wealth and even life itself. She forms a powerful spy ring, known as the Richmond Underground, and she is credited with giving Union General U.S. Grant the most valuable information about Richmond that he received during the war. Libby McNamee, author of the newly published book, "The Union Spymistress: The Story of Elizabeth Van Lew" will share incites about the life of this interesting historical character.
