This picturesque approx 8 mile long walk and trot route takes in the bridleways and byways in the countryside surrounding Linacre Reservoir. Views are expansive from positions of elevation, and there is a glimpse of the water as the ride sets out. Shady woodland sections provide variety around the route and there is some undulation throughout. There is little road work, but the pretty village of Old Brampton is included, and a short section taking in the Grange Hill Trig is very scenic.
Worth Noting:
There is a small amount of roadwork, sections are short but there is some inclusion of larger B roads with higher speed limits.
Vehicular traffic, including farm machinery, may be encountered on some off road sections which access properties.
Going is at times rocky and uneven, both up and downhill.
A small water splash is included.
Livestock will be encountered alongside the route.
Some sections are narrow and there may be hedge overgrowth so long sleeves are advisable.
Parking is best suited to smaller lorries and trailers. Max charge £3.50 for all day. Machines accept coins and cards. Toilet facilities available a short distance from the car park.
All riders must have their own Public Liability Insurance. Under 18s are welcome, but on a first visit must be accompanied on the ride by an adult rider. Group size is limited to 6+ guide.
