About the event

A Summer Serenade
Our summer concert features a set of new choral songs setting the poetry of Christina Rossetti (5th December 1830 – 29th December 1894), composed especially for the choir by musical director Adam Green.

Poems featured include favourites Echo, Fluttered Wings, A Hope Carol, A Chill, A Birthday and Dream Land, amongst others.

We will also be performing new settings of the spirituals Steal Away, Swing Low Sweet Chariot and Feel the Spirit and Irish Airs including Danny Boy and Down by the Sally Gardens.
