The Summer Songwriter Showcase features 4 local singer songwriters sharing their stories and songs including Keith Grounds, Asenath Rose, Sadia and Tyler Setera.
Originally from Bowie MD, Keith Grounds tries his best to stray from generic cliches and trades them in for deeper, heartfelt lyrics. He has been writing original music for several years, drawing inspiration from artists such as Eric Church, Bruce Springsteen, Kip Moore & Shinedown. Residing somewhere between country and rock, he intertwines humor with the stories behind his songs and ensures nothing is left behind.
Asenath Rose is a Maryland-born singer-songwriter located in Annapolis. She performs intricately-written folk songs, enthusiastically accompanying herself with acoustic guitar. Rose’s work explores themes of the joys and sorrows of holding close to you what is desperate to slip away. Her songs are informed by the 1970s folk scene as well as female-fronted contemporary indie rock, such as Boygenius and Big Thief
Sadia is a singer songwriter and multi-instrumentalist hailing from Prince Georges County Maryland. Her music has been described as potent, with strong vocals, profound lyrics and emotive guitar playing. In addition to writing and performing, Sadia has served as a music director, and has written original music and scores for films.
Tyler Setera is a Maryland-based singer-songwriter who mixes his pop punk roots, rock & roll energy, and a splash of nostalgia—all delivered through an acoustic guitar and some mildly questionable life choices.
He’s been chasing melodies since MySpace & mixtapes, cutting his teeth playing drums in beloved local bands like Wise Eyes, Stout Seven and The War of 1812. But now Tyler’s stepping out front—trading sticks for strings to spread his wings, tell his own stories, and connect with the crowd in a deeper way.
Tyler writes songs that are catchy, honest, and occasionally sound like they were written during a minor identity crisis (because they were).
