Come and be part of something special!
You are warmly invited to a unique and joy-filled week at St. Francis’ Church, Chester. Whether you’ve been part of the parish for years or have just recently walked through our doors, this Parish Mission is for you. It’s a time to step away from the routine, open your heart, and rediscover what it means to walk with God—in community, in prayer, in healing, and in celebration. Bring your friends, your family, and even those who’ve never been to church—there’s something here for everyone.
Join us for a week of grace, community, and renewal as we launch our Parish Mission.
Eight missionaries will be coming to St. Francis’ from the House of the Open Door Community and are staying in parishioners’ homes. There are lots of events for you to be part of, so come along to whatever takes your fancy.
Meet the Missionaries
📅 Friday 25th July | 7:00pm
This is our introduction to the mission and promises to be a dynamic opening to the week. These people are not what you expect! Be prepared for fun, conversations, music and sharing as you encounter people who have ‘gone out there’ for the Gospel.
Healing Talk & Ministry
📅 Saturday 26th July | 10:30am
Healing is where it all begins. We’ll hear about healing and have the opportunity to receive personal prayer for healing ourselves.
Worship Talk & Ministry
📅 Saturday 26th July | 6:30pm
Saturday Vigil Mass and Worship. Worship is where this whole mission leads. The team will give a teaching on worship and lead us into a deeper experience of heavenly praise.
Exploring Faith Live
📅 Monday 28th July | 7:00pm
Do you know someone who doesn’t come to Church, isn’t ready for Mass, but is open to exploring faith? This evening is for them. Invite them, come with them, and share in an experience where it is safe to ask questions, disagree graciously, and explore the meaning of life.
...This could be the moment when the Lord takes hold.
Taizé Prayer Service
📅 Tuesday 29th July | 6:30pm
A time to connect with the peace of Christ. The repetitive, meditative songs of Taizé help us to enter the quiet and rest in God’s presence.
Children’s Mission
📅 Thursday 31st July | 10:00am
A joyful, age-appropriate morning especially for our children to meet Jesus in their own way.
International Food Market
📅 Thursday 31st July | 6:30pm
We celebrate the end of the mission with a feast! Bring a dish to share that reflects your national background, and come ready to taste the rich variety of food (and people!) the Lord has gathered here in Chester.
