Plant Swap!

EVERYBODY WINS at the HSSJ annual plant swap!

Our plant swap works a little differently than most plant swaps. Please read the guidelines and how-to below.

Guidelines:

You may bring multiple plants. Whatever isn't taken must be brought home with you.

Each person will get ONE ticket regardless of how many plants were brought. If you cannot bring a plant, you are still encouraged to participate.

Please arrive about 6:30 pm to get your plants on the tables so our actual event can start on time. Come and share your plant abundance with members and guests.

Suggested plants include houseplants, seedlings, seeds, bulbs, succulents and cacti, water plants and clean garden tools in good condition.

No invasive, sick, or insect-infested plants.

If potting up plants from the garden, please do so a couple of days in advance.

Please I.D. your plant and list growing instructions.

How-to:

Everyone gets one ticket (or group designation). Please do not lose this.

Once we are ready to begin, the announcer will call out a ticket number or group designation. If that's you, you go up to the tables full of plants and select the one that you would like. Then you go and sit down. One plant per round.

Once all tickets/designations have been called, we will do it all over again.

Usually we do about 3 or 4 rounds depending on how many plants were brought to the event.

When there are not enough plants to do a full round, it will be opened up for first come first served. No stampeding please.

If there are still plants left over and no one wants them, they go home with the person who brought them.
