Welcome The Waders at Rickett's Point

Every spring about two million shorebirds from dozens of species make an epic migration from the far north of Asia and the Americas to Australia. Around Port Phillip Bay our wader birds feed in the shallows, and the rocky platforms at Rickett's Point are an ideal roosting place for them during high tides. Rickett's Point, now a Marine Sanctuary, is the best place on the eastern shore of Port Phillip Bay to see them.

Come on a guided walk around Rickett's Point with Friends of Native Wildlife, welcome the waders, and experience the variety of marine and bush birds and other wildlife living here.

There are some stairs and uneven ground.

Please wear sturdy walking shoes and bring binoculars, sun screen, a hat and sunglasses.
