Prehistoric Bayside Museum - Inaugural Open Day

The first open day for the Prehistoric Bayside Museum will be on November 16th, 2025, and it's free for all to visit!

Come and see some of the biggest Megalodon teeth ever found in Australia, the biggest tooth ever found on the continent, and the remains of giant prehistoric megafauna! Starting at 1130am, members of the public will get the opportunity to come through the museum for the very first time, inspecting fossil remains, whilst getting the opportunity to touch and feel fossil bones from the scientifically important fossil sites of Beaumaris and Black Rock (both more than 5 million years of age!)

Palaeontologist and Curator of the Prehistoric Bayside Museum, Ben Francischelli, will give a talk at the Motor Yacht Squadron at 12 noon, showcasing the newest finds from across the Bay and how these fossils are changing our understanding of the evolution of numerous groups of animals.

These events are extremely popular, so don't miss out. This event will start at 1130am, and will end at 5pm.
