About the event

Comedy at the Shirley | Shirley Burke Theatre, Parkdale
Join us for an unforgettable evening of gut-busting humour, featuring a treasure trove of comedic talent that'll have you laughing 'til your cheeks ache.

Expect big-name comics and rising stars from Australia and around the world – here to light up the Shirley Burke Theatre for one night only. You’ll recognise these talents from the Melbourne International Comedy Festival Gala, and from shows such as Have You Been Paying Attention?, Thank God You’re Here and Spicks & Specks.

Lovingly curated by veteran comedy programmer Janet A McLeod (aka the fairy godmother of Melbourne comedy), Comedy at the Shirley is guaranteed to leave you in hysterics.

Our September line-up:

Celia Pacquola

Co-creator and star of ABC’s Rosehaven, winner of Dancing With The Stars 2020, and host of Thank God You’re Here, Celia is one of the best-loved and most in-demand comics in Australia. Exuding warmth and knockabout self-deprecating charm, we are thrilled to have Celia on board. Prepare for some big belly laughs.
‘An enthusiastically charismatic presence from the outset’★★★★ Time Out
‘Precision-engineered and hilariously funny at every beat’ ★★★★★ Chortle.co.uk

Josh Earl

Warm, energetic and entertaining – you may know Josh from hit podcasts Don’t You Know Who I Am? and 100% Hits Vol. Pod. A consummate storyteller, Josh’s standup is refreshingly honest and gloriously relatable. Forget about the troubles of the world and put yourself in safe hands.
'A consummate storyteller. Hilarious.' ★★★★ The Age
'Brilliant.' ★★★★★ The Music

Noah Szto

A natural performer with killer lines and effortless storytelling. Noah endured four years at medical school in the hope it would make a good show one day. It did - he won the Directors' Choice award at the 2025 Melbourne Comedy Festival, and is now an actual practicing medical doctor.
