《Gloucestershire-Forces Hub-Homeless Veterans Kits.
Request: Are seeking assistance in creating 4 x 'Homeless Veteran Kits' (HVKs) for Homeless Veterans in Gloucestershire incl:
1) Tents, Roll Mats, Sleeping Bags, Cooking, MREs, First Aid, New Underwear, Socks, Personnal Washing etc.
2) Funding for Vouchers for Dayly Hot Meals and Lundrmat.
*We have access to donated clothing via charity shops, however, underwear and socks are not received by Charity Shops. As such we have been aware of the need to combat stigma of veterans requesting these items.
*There are organisations that can offer hot food, however, some locations are not suitable for Veterans. As such we will have Charity Cafe to provide a hot meal once a day.
*We are seeking to hold the 'Homeless Veteran Kits' (HVKs) in Storage Units that have been donated by the Big Yellow Storage in Gloucester, for short time reissues .
We will take the HVKs back from the Veteran's once they have Tempary Accreditation.
*Our Veteran's Support Coordinators will work with the Homeless Veterans , Military Charities and Council to support access to Tempary Emergency and Longer Term Accomodation
