Like Rugby? Thought your playing days were over? Always wanted to give rugby a try? Then we have a way of getting you back playing a bit of rugby, being active and having fun with like-minded people...
Cheltenham Walking Rugby is a diverse and inclusive walking rugby group started in March 2022 as part of CCS Rugby Club. It is a simplified non-contact version of Rugby suitable for men and women of all abilities and being a competitive passing game, suitable for ex-Rugby players, injured and rehabilitating current players and those interested in Rugby without any experience!
There is no tackling, scrums, mauls, line-outs or kicking with the priority being firmly on safety and well-being.
Those past retirement age can still indulge in their passion without the full-on contact, or those wishing to keep up their activity levels can try a new sport. Walking Rugby is a great leveller and you do not need to be fit but you do need a certain degree of mobility. We are open to all genders and ages – a ‘team’ means you all work as one.
No rugby experience is needed, just a willingness to have fun, get fit and make new friends.
Venue: Cotswold Area Civil Service Sports Association, Cheltenham, United Kingdom, GL519SL
Day/time: Tuesday 7.00pm
If you fancy giving it go, then pop along for a look or better still – just join in!
