Are you considering a career in teaching? We'd love to welcome you to our upcoming Teaching Taster Day at Cheltenham Bournside School. As well as observing lessons, we are proud to be one of the few schools who offer the chance to ‘have a go at teaching’, providing you with the unique opportunity to step into the classroom, work as part of a team, and deliver a lesson to our students.
What’s included in the day?
- A welcome and introduction with our Headteacher
- The chance to observe lessons across different subjects
- An opportunity to plan and teach a lesson in a supportive team environment
- Insights into our Initial Teacher Training (ITT) programmes at Bournside
- An afternoon session with Becky Rose, GITEP SCITT Director & CEO Teach Glofrom, who will outline different routes into teaching and guide you through the application process, followed by a Q&A

Cheltenham Bournside works in partnership with GITEP, the University of Worcester, and the University of Gloucestershire to provide high-quality ITT teacher training placements. This taster day offers a valuable, pre-enrolment opportunity to help you decide whether teaching is the right career path for you.
