IAM Members and Associates Only
Our final three-in-a-car session for 2025 will be based at the Hillier Garden Centre in Cheddar which is perfectly suited for some fantastic roads to explore up trough the Cheddar Gorge and onto the Mendips..
Parking is free and we kick-off around 10am. Don't worry if you're late - just hang around (or grab a coffee in the lovely cafe!) and someone will eventually arrive back from a run.
The sessions are designed for current Associates (whether you've started your advanced course or not) as well as Full Members and their purpose is to assist you in reaching or maintaining your high standards.
Long-term members, if you haven't had your driving assessed by an Observer in the last 6 months you're probably not at the same standard you were on your advanced test day! So, as we say, '... use it - or lose it'!
So, this is your opportunity to catch up on a few tips from the Bristol Group's Observers. Even if you’ve never been on a TiC you’ll be welcome. Not only are they FREE, they’re an ideal way of keeping in touch with advanced driving.
When you arrive at the venue a Team Leader will assign you into car size groups. One of you elects to to drive first for 30 minutes or so on a course of your choice or, if you are not sure of the area, a course described to you en-route.
There is usually a good deal of helpful banter during TiC sessions so most questions will be covered as you go round, but at the end of each drive there will be an opportunity for you to enjoy a short and sometimes entertaining debrief! Someone else then elects to go next in their own car - and so on until you’ve all had a turn.
The whole thing is done and dusted in around 2 hours, it’s completely free of charge and it's good fun. No records are made of the drives - but there's usually plenty of advice available!!
Rich Olpin is running this one so why not give him a heads up, add yourself to te event and let us know you'll be there!
