The Fabulous Danes
The Fabulous Danes heißen nicht etwa so, weil sie aus Kopenhagen stammen, sondern weil die Band 2006 in der Dänenstraße (in Wien!) gegründet wurde, genauer auf Hausnummer 4, wo sich einst das legendäre (alte) "Beisl" der Uni für Bodenkultur befand. Dort wurde, bei ein paar "Krügeln" Ottakringer, das musikalische Fundament aus Rhythm & Blues, Garage Punk und Pub Rock gezimmert, das den Sound der Band bis heute prägt – und der fährt genau an der Mod/Rocker-Schnittstelle in die Glieder. Hier drehen die fabelhaften Dänen ihre Amps gern noch ein bisschen lauter und das Schlagzeug stampft noch eine Spur räudiger dahin.
