You might look capable on the outside, but inside you feel constantly on high alert. Stuck in loops of worry. Exhausted from pushing through. Disconnected from yourself. Frustrated that nothing seems to truly help.
There is nothing wrong with you.
Anxiety isn’t weakness. It’s a nervous system that has learned to protect you. But right now, it may be running the show.
This workshop is about taking that control back.
Not with surface-level tips.
Not with “just breathe” advice.
But by understanding what’s really happening in your brain and body and learning how to respond differently.
Anxiety is personal. That’s why your understanding of it needs to be personal too.
This is a therapist-led, small group experience that blends psychology, self-awareness and practical tools. You’ll learn how your anxiety works, what triggers it, and how to build a personalised toolkit that actually fits you.
This is about understanding your mind, regulating your nervous system, breaking overthinking loops, rebuilding self-trust and becoming more than your anxiety.
You are not here to be fixed.

This isn’t about “getting rid” of anxiety. It’s about no longer being controlled by it.
Course structure
You’ll be gently encouraged to reflect and practise between sessions, but nothing is forced. This is a confidential, supportive space.
Weekly themes include understanding anxiety in the brain and body, stress responses and the nervous system, overthinking and mental loops, CBT and DBT tools, emotional regulation, burnout and self-care, building your personal toolkit, and developing self-compassion and self-trust.
About me
I’m Geri Carey, an integrative psychotherapist and coach, qualified at Masters level in Psychotherapy and Counselling from Keele University.
I’ve spent several years supporting hundreds of people in both short and long-term therapy, with a primary focus on anxiety. My work spans private practice, corporate wellbeing and complex mental health settings, including addiction services and government-funded programmes supporting long-term unemployment.
I also know anxiety personally. I understand how exhausting it is to live in your head, searching for calm and clarity.
My style is warm, insightful and practical. I blend psychology with real-life tools to help people understand themselves and lead their inner world differently.
This workshop is not therapy, but it is deeply therapeutic in effect.
