About the event

Conversations about Care Possibilities Drop In
Conversations About Care Possibilities at Kingsley Holt Centre

Residents are invited to enjoy coffee, cake, and conversation at the Kingsley Holt Centre on Thursday, 16th October, anytime between 2pm and 7pm.
The informal “Drop In” is an opportunity for people to discuss and explore what works when it comes to help at home and community support. This “conversation about care possibilities” forms part of the wider Micro Provider Project across Staffordshire, led by Support Staffordshire and funded by Staffordshire County Council.
The pilot project called ‘Local Help My Way’ supports people to set up as small, independent paid micro-providers of care and support within their communities, offering flexible, personalised help. From daily living support and companionship to cleaning, gardening, cooking, and community activities, the aim is to give people more choice and control over the support they receive, while also creating opportunities for local people to develop rewarding self-employment.
Organisers are keen to hear from people who receive care or support at home, family members and friends who provide unpaid care, people with experience of working in the care sector, anyone who may be interested in becoming a micro provider and anyone who enjoys helping others and is curious. By bringing these voices together, the project hopes to build a clear picture of local experiences – identifying what is working well, what is missing, and what could be done differently.
Sarah Roberts, Micro Provider Project Officer, explains:
“This is a chance for people to share their experiences in a relaxed and friendly setting. We know that real solutions come from listening to the people who use and deliver care every day. Together, we can shape a project that makes a lasting impact on our communities.”
The afternoon will be welcoming and flexible. People can drop in at any time and enjoy complimentary refreshments while chatting with others.
