Marcella Kanfer Rolnick & Mark Smucker- Chautauqua Lecture Series

Continuing Chautauqua’s Week Five exploration of “Innovation in Capitalism: How to Meet 21st-Century Challenges?,” leaders of two storied American companies come into conversation to explore the phenomenon of multi-generational family leadership and the impact of family businesses on the economy and capitalism.

Marcella Kanfer Rolnick and Mark Smucker are top executives at GOJO Industries, Inc., and The J.M. Smucker Company, respectively. In this conversation, GOJO and Smucker will serve as two case study companies that have survived and thrived for decades — GOJO since 1946 and Smucker since 1897. Informed by the experiences of these two successful companies and the insights of their family-led leaders, we’ll explore what it will take to succeed in the private sector over the next 75 years.
