Writing Workshop for Teens – World Building

Do you love reading adventure books with fantastical settings and magical elements? Have you ever wanted to write a story set in a place you’ve never been? Through this workshop, students will understand the layout of the land within their stories, no matter what genre. We will take a look at ancient cultures and how landscape, language, government, and belief systems impact story. Hosted by Misty Yarnall, Please call the library at 315-649-5454 to register. Misty Yarnall is a Rochester-based writer and teaching artist. She actively teaches creative writing and theatre workshops through libraries, home school co-ops, and nonprofit organizations. She is passionate about creating brave spaces for people of all ages to share their stories. Misty has completed the Teaching Artist Institute of Rochester’s Teaching Artistry 101 Track and is a board member of TAMA (Teaching Artists of the Mid-Atlantic).
