Sun Pier House has always been a bit in between – not quite a pub, but more than just a café. That’s why we love being part of Intra (which literally means “between”)! So, it made perfect sense for us to create a space for teens who are also in that in between stage – too old for traditional youth clubs, but not quite ready for the pub. Medway Youth agreed, and The Anchor was born!
The Anchor is your after-class social club where you can stop by for a drink, get creative, learn something new, or just chill with friends.
Run by experienced and supportive staff, it’s a welcoming space where you can be yourself, feel included, and have fun.

Lego Legends of the Dockyard (The Anchor)
As part of our public engagement programme supporting "Brickwrecks: Sunken Ships in LEGO Bricks" we are inviting community groups to help recreate iconic elements of the Historic Dockyard using LEGO bricks.
Each build will focus on a specific element of the Dockyard, and participants will have a chance to explore the legendary stories that shaped these historic landmarks. The individual models will come together in September to form a complete Dockyard model built entirely of LEGO and will be on display as part of the Brickwrecks exhibition.
As part of this session, you will have the chance to learn about Victorian Sloop HMS GANNET, brought to life by our amazing research volunteers. Inspired by these stories, you will have the opportunity to work collaboratively to build LEGO HMS GANNET and contribute to this wonderful community project.
If you don’t finish the build during the session, don’t worry, as you will have the opportunity to work on it over the coming weeks – as long as it’s completed by the end of August.
