CLASS 1. PEN OF 10 X PRIME BULLOCKS
Open to all breeds.
Judged on temperament, evenness of line, fat cover, conformation and weight for age. 0-8 TOOTH
CLASS 2. PEN OF 10 X PRIME COWS Open to all breeds. Judged on temperament, evenness of line, fat cover, conformation and weight for age. 0-8 TOOTH
CLASS 3. PEN OF 10 X TRADE STEERS Open to all breeds. Judged on temperament, evenness of line, conformation, weight for age and ability to perform on feed (grain/grass). Cattle must be mouthed prior to arriving. 0-4 TOOTH, 400- 520KG.
CLASS 4. PEN OF 10 X TRADE HEIFERS Open to all breeds. Judged on temperament, evenness of line, conformation and weight for age. 0-4 TOOTH 400-520KG
CLASS 5. SINGLE BEST BULLOCK Open to all breeds. Judged on temperament, evenness of line, fat cover, conformation and weight for age. 0-8 TOOTH.
CLASS 6. SINGLE BEST COW Open to all breeds. Judged on temperament, evenness of line, fat cover, conformation and weight for age. 0-8 TOOTH.
ANY INDIVIDUAL ANIMAL FROM CLASSES 1 – 6 ARE ELIGIBLE FOR THE PIP KNUTH MEMORIAL TROPHY – CHAMPION PRIME EXHIBIT.

SHOW GROUND CLASSES MONDAY 28TH JULY:
Class 75. PEN OF 5 X WEANERS.
Open to all breeds, each pen is to be a line of either 5 x heifers OR 5 x steers - not mixed.
Must be under 12 months of age and weaned recently. Judged on temperament, evenness of line, conformation and weight for age.
Class 76. Pen of 3 Retainer heifers.
Judged on evenness of line, conformation, weight for age and temperament. SPEC: Milk Tooth, 12 – 24 Months*Animals to be weighed and mouthed prior to arrival and details recorded on a supplementary sheet to assist judging.

With the Prime Cattle competition and sale taking place on Wednesday 23rd July the week before the show at the Dalrymple Saleyards Charters Towers followed 4 days later by the Agforce Family BBQ and presentation of awards at the showgrounds on Sunday 26th of July at 6:00pm.

PRIME CATTLE TERMS 2025:
Terms and conditions of the 2025 Commercial Cattle Competition Terms –Animals to be delivered on Tuesday 22nd July, in accordance with standard Wednesday sale conditions. All animals presented to be sold at open auction on Wednesday 23rd July. Place cards presented on pens. Ribbons, prizemoney and trophies to be presented at the AGFORCE dinner Saturday Evening at the Charters Towers Show.
1. All prime exhibits to be at Dalrymple saleyards by 5:00pm Tuesday 22nd July.
2. No nomination fee, 1% of sale proceeds to be paid to TPAMA committee by your nominated agent for rebuilding of cattle facilities at Showgrounds.
3. Wild, Dangerous or Unwell cattle may be disqualified at the discretion of the Chief cattle steward.
4. Cattle to be polled or dehorned. Recently branded, dehorned or castrated cattle which could be subject to bleeding will be disqualified.
5. All cattle must belong to and be bred by the exhibitor.
6. All cattle in classes which require mouthing and weighing must be mouthed and weighed prior to arrival.
7. MOST SUCCESSFUL EXHIBITOR - QUALITY & QUANITY! Points accumulate in the following order: CLASSES 1-4 1st place 6 points, 2nd place 4 points, 3rd place 2 points. CLASSES 5 & 6 1st place 3 points, 2nd place 2 points, 3rd place 1 point. Single animal judged CHAMPION PRIME EXHIBIT – 5 points. Points accumulated will be aggregated to identify the most successful exhibitor of the competition. You do not need to enter this class, all exhibitors are automatically eligible.
STORE CATTLE TERMS 2025:
Terms and conditions of the 2025 Commercial Cattle Competition
1. All exhibits to be on the grounds by 5:00pm Monday 28th July
2. Entry Fee of $20 per class, maximum $120 per exhibitor across all competitions.
3. Wild, Dangerous or Unwell cattle may be disqualified at the discretion of the Chief cattle steward.
4. Cattle to be polled or dehorned. Recently branded, dehorned or castrated cattle which could be subject to bleeding will be disqualified.
5. All cattle must belong to and be bred by the exhibitor.
6. All cattle in classes which require mouthing and weighing must be mouthed and weighed prior to arrival at the grounds and may be mouthed and/or weighed by stewards at their discretion on arrival. Cattle are to be “wet”/ “Full” and 6% less will be subtracted from their full weight recorded on supplementary sheet. After submitting a nomination form, exhibitors will be supplied with a supplementary sheet and must be completed in full by the exhibitor for each class and submitted to the show office via email at

7. The most successful exhibitor will be calculated on the following basis: First place, 3 points; second place, 2 points; third place.
8.Any dispute that may arise must be reported to a member of the Show Committee and shall be settled by no less than One representative of the Cattle Committee, One representative of the broader Show committee and the Chief Cattle Steward. Their collaborative decision is final.
9. Only the chief Steward and Cattle Judge have the right to alter and transfer any entry to a more suitable class.
10. All entries to be visually free of cattle ticks and exhibited under Biosecurity Queensland Regulations with accompanying NATIONAL VENDER DECLARATION FORMS and be identified with an NLIS device.
11. All fees and costs associated with the Transport, Housing and feeding of livestock at the H.M. Clarke Saleyards or Charters Towers Show Grounds will be the sole responsibility of the exhibitor. 12. The Committee undertakes to care for all cattle exhibited but will not be held responsible for any loss whatsoever.
13. The exhibitor has the sole responsibility for supplying their animals with feed and water and all appropriate containers that are required to do so.
