Did you know UVA hand sorts and diverts all the waste from UVA recycling bins? Come tour the UVA Recycling Sort Facility to learn more about how recycling is sorted and where the different materials end up. We look forward to seeing you.

This October we are going behind the scenes at UVA. Behind every light switch, lab experiment, and classroom are people, places and systems that make it all possible. Join us this Campus Sustainability Month, October 2025, for a series of free events that will allow UVA students, faculty, and staff to get to know energy, waste, and other key infrastructure at the University. From pipes underground to solar panels on rooftops, we’ll foster a deeper appreciation for what keeps our Grounds running day in and day out!

Please wear long pants and closed toe flat shoes(no flip flops, sandals, or high heels).
