Faith in Action of the Greater Kanawha Valley (FIAGKV) is a local nonprofit dedicated to helping seniors in Kanawha and Putnam counties remain independent in their own homes as long as possible. We provide transportation to medical appointments, offer grocery shopping assistance, make "phone friend" matches, and do minor home repairs with an eye toward sustaining a safe home environment.
FIAGKV is a 100% volunteer driven organization, striving to make a difference neighbor to neighbor.
The constant challenge for the organization is to continually expand our volunteer base to keep pace with the ever-growing need. As a FIAGKV Volunteer, you have total control over how much or how little time you spend, what types of service you perform, and when. And we can promise you one thing above all others: you will have real and tangible impact from the first time you serve to the last.
This training is for those who are ready to volunteer your time and talents to assist seniors. Neighbor to neighbor, you can make a big difference in the lives of people in your community.
All Faith in Action volunteers are required to attend ONE orientation training session prior to serving.
