Tree ID Walk

Join Master Naturalist and retired EIU botany professor Nancy Coutant for a leisurely tour around EIU’s campus to view and learn about some of the campus’ unique and common trees and shrubs. The tour will include the 130+-year-old bald cypress grove, the gorgeous weeping European beech, Harry Lauder's walking stick shrub, the dawn redwoods (living fossils), and many more interesting trees and shrubs. Meet at 3:00 PM at the south end of Booth Library by the clock tower. Visitor parking is available across from Blair Hall along Seventh Street and metered parking is available along Seventh Street near the University Union and Police Department. Otherwise, you can purchase a parking day pass for $1.50 at the University Police Department or at https://www.eiu.edu/police/Purchase_Parking_Permit.php.
