Matt Smith is a WV based fine artist & illustrator.
Matthew is pursuing images that suitably portray the color, magic, and whimsy he sees in the most beautiful place on Earth - West Virginia. Utilizing a mix of digital, oil, acrylic and mixed media techniques he attempts to make work that is accessible to anyone and speaks to the childlike magic that a walk through the Appalachian woods is sure to evoke. He’s shown work across Appalachia and has been a Tamarack Foundation Fellow as well as a grantee through the West Virginia Department of Arts, Culture and History Professional Development grant program.
