A little history about the church

Circular Congregational Church, is one of the oldest continuously worshipping congregations in the South.

A meaningful piece of history: John Newton, the writer of the beloved hymn Amazing Grace, attended services here in the spring of 1749 during a turning point in his life. His time at Circular was part of his journey toward faith. Years later, he returned to England and wrote the hymn that would become a timeless classic.
